We are still here and have no plans to shut down!

Dear Friends,

We are still here and have no plans to shut down!  WE ARE COMMITTED TO CONTINUING TO PREVENT HUNGER AND HOMELESSNESS, particularly in your schools.  We began the week by getting bulk food into many of your communities by working with principals and district liaisons. Now that schools have completely shut down we need to figure out a plan to serve your families moving forward.

At the moment, here are the 2 distribution options we are working with.

  1. We are in the process of implementing a drive-thru model at our facility in Buena Park for our WGYB families. We are doing a test run tomorrow and we will send out more information on this next week.
  2. There will be a drive-thru food distribution at the Honda Center in Anaheim provided by Second Harvest Food Bank beginning this Saturday.  This is open to the families you serve though it is not being publicized. Flyer attached.

More importantly, we are trying to figure out a stable option for your communities. The plans we implemented at the beginning of the week have changed with the recent public health order. Ideally, we’d love your district or schools to designate a site (or sites) where food can be safely distributed.  For example, perhaps we can partner with a Resource Center, Food Pantry, or “Grab and Go” location?  I realize this will vary from district to district. I want to work with each of you to establish stability for our families during this unsettling time. I am willing to have conversations that fit your communities so that we put in place the best options to reach the most vulnerable families possible.

Let’s communicate to put together the best (tentative) plan for your community. Please send me a SEPARATE email with your thoughts for moving forward.  I can also be reached on either of my cell phones:

Most importantly, I sincerely hope everyone is staying safe and healthy so that we can continue to serve our personal and professional communities with dedication and passion. I greatly respect each and every one of you.
